Command Dictate

Private Dictation Software for Windows

Command Dictate runs speech recognition locally on your Windows PC using an on-device model. No audio is sent to NetaGig servers or any cloud service. No account is required. There is no telemetry or usage analytics built into the software.

7-day free trial. No account. No credit card.

Local Processing

Your audio never leaves your machine.

Most cloud-based dictation tools send your audio to a remote server, process it there, and return a transcript. That means your words pass through infrastructure you do not control, and your audio may be logged, retained, or used for model training depending on the service's policies.

Command Dictate takes a different approach. Speech recognition runs on your Windows PC using an on-device model installed with the software. Nothing is transmitted. There is no remote server receiving your audio, and no network connection is required to dictate.

The trial and activation systems are also local. The 7-day trial uses a local file and Windows registry entry. Paid activation uses a certificate stored on your machine, verified locally against a key embedded in the software. Neither requires a connection at runtime.

What stays local
  • Audio processing — on-device speech model
  • Transcripts — written directly to the active field
  • Trial state — local file and registry
  • Activation — locally stored certificate
  • Snippets — local TOML file, no cloud sync
  • Settings — local configuration file
No Telemetry

No analytics, no usage data, no reporting.

Command Dictate does not collect or transmit usage analytics. There is no telemetry built into the application. The software does not report what you dictate, how often you use it, what applications you dictate into, or any other behavioral data.

There is also no auto-update mechanism that phones home in the background. Updates to the software are delivered through new installer releases, which you choose to download and install.

Internet access is used once at purchase time — to deliver your activation certificate by email after checkout. After that, the software runs entirely offline.

Practical Use

Useful where local processing is a requirement.

Client-sensitive work

Legal, financial, and consulting work where dictating client names, case details, or confidential content into a cloud service is not acceptable.

Restricted networks

Environments with strict outbound traffic rules, air-gapped machines, or facilities that restrict cloud software.

Personal privacy

For anyone who prefers that their voice data not be handled by a third-party cloud service, regardless of professional requirement.

Offline work

On a plane, on a train, or anywhere without a reliable internet connection. Command Dictate works without network access.
